So, this is episode 1 of the Melissa Horror Movies. In this episode we'll be talking about an event that happened a few weeks ago....
It's Friday night and I'm super bored. I get a text message from Melissa asking if I want to get out tonight and do something. I suggest going to see Avatar in 3D (the re-release). She agrees and comes to pick me up. We HAD talked about eating before hitting the movies, but we got lost in Honolulu trying to find the theater. Randomly I remembered how to get there and we ended up at the movies just in time. The movie was long, and it started late, so we left at about 11pm. Now, Melissa nor I really know our way around Honolulu. I am often impressed with myself for remembering what I do seeing as I don't have a car. So, we head out after the movies and talk about finding a place to eat along the way. We just keep driving and eventually we realize that there is something wrong. It doesn't look right, and the highway we are on is ending...then we see a sign "Hawaii Kai". Yeah, we are lost. Neither one of us has ever heard of this town. We decide to just follow the car ahead of us, and see if we can't figure out where to go. Lol, yes, we are kind of creepers. :p But, as Melissa says "As long as we can see the ocean to one side, we can't get too lost" Anyway, so the car leads us into a development....and the ocean is no longer in view. So, we turn around. On the way back down the road we decide that we are going to do the female thing and ask for directions. However, many of the gas stations are closed because of the lateness of the hour. Finally I spot one that is open and we head that way. Melissa decides it is my job to ask for directions...not sure why...so we walk in and ask the lady at the counter how to get to North Shore. She just kinda looks at us and smiles. I take this to mean we are way far away,. and say as much. However, she tells us she doesn't really know the area, and that we should "ask that guy". She points to a man making his way up to the counter. At first I'm like "really? She wants us to ask some random dude who happens to be a customer?" But she asks him if he knows the area. He says yes, and asks us where we want to go. After explaining we want to get to North Shore he tries to tell us how to get there. Well, we really didn't understand his directions, so he pays the lady at the register and tells us to follow him out to his van...as he has a map there....Ok. I admit, this really is the way horror movies start. Innocent girls led to a WHITE van (yes, the van was really white) and never seen or heard of again. Melissa and I exchanged looks but followed him outside. I had decided to stand a ways back so it wouldn't be that easy to attack us, and Melissa (she told me later) was hoping her long legs would perhaps save us in case we had to run. The man, as it turned out, was a taxi driver. He did have a map, and gave us great directions. He actually gave us a map (now dubbed the creepy taxi driver map) that we could keep. After thanking him, he told us we probably wouldn't get there til about 2am. We drove away laughing about what could have been a potentially creepy event.

To just tie up some loose ends here, we did end up going to dinner that late. Once we hit Kaneohe we went to Dennys and ate a very early breakfast. (You'd be surprised how busy that place was at that time of night!) We got back to our little town at about 2:30am safe and sound. Oh, and the above picture is from that night...taken in Dennys. Melissa had refused to recycle her 3D glasses....

Aloha everyone! I'm sure you must be asking yourself, why is Alicia making a blog about horror movies? Lol, well, let me explain. First, I'd like to introduce to you my good friend-Melissa.

This is her on her birthday. As you can tell, she's blonde. She has a really good sense of humor about it too, which makes her really fun to hang out with. That brings me to why I created this blog. For some odd reason life is always an adventure when I'm hanging out with Melissa. We find ourselves in unique situations and often times lost. There are many laughs and lots of good memories, and MANY great quotes. (see side) So I thought it would be fun to start a blog to record these adventures. Hopefully you'll laugh as much as we did living them. Now on to the title. Originally I intended to name this blog "Life With A Blonde" but I was never very pleased about that title. It just didn't seem to fit Melissa. Then, just the other night, Melissa and our friend Lizzy were going to a movie when we were looking for a way into the mall. (They had several of the entrances blocked off because it was late)We happened to turn down a road that was a dead end, so Melissa was turning the car around. As she was doing so she whispered "horror movie...". Then it hit me. Melissa is always saying "This is how horror movies start" when we are on our various adventures. What a great title for my blog about them! Now, to make you appreciate this comment of her's just a little bit more, let me just say that Melissa gets scared SO easily that I highly doubt she's ever even seen a horror movie. So, I guess she makes up for it by living them.
Anyway, I will be posting our adventures on here for friends and family to enjoy. If there are any good stories that you would like to share, feel free to shoot me an e-mail and I'll most likely include it as well. This blog is intended to be fun, so nothing mean is to be said about anything, please. Enjoy! And hopefully we'll get some good blonde stories and adventures recorded on here!
